Default auxillary fuse box wiring for my Z28

hi guys. had a question i was hoping u pros could answer. im putting a auxillary wiring fuse box in my car because the front headlights and all interior gauges do not work. my question is can i run the power wire from the starter terminal to the aux box and still keep the old wiring harness hooked up there as well. car starts fine and the tailoghts and brake lights work so i didnt want to mess with the stuff working. just add a secondary circuit box. just want to make sure if its safe to run two power wires from the starter terminal at one time. will hook up the power wire to a 30 amp circuit breaker ahead of aux box. got this idea from a painless kit. but dont want to spend a hundred bucks so i might try to build something similar for less. sorry if my post is long or question seems stupid.

What year is your Z? I have an 81' and I just ran into the same problem. I did a lot probing and found it was a fusible link from the starter. I put a new one on and bingo, headlights worked fine. I'm looking into getting a newer type fusible link fuse panel from the junk yard and moving the fuses to a more accessible location in the engine bay or inside on the fire wall.
