74 Z28 sitting since 84!!! is it rare

Hey Guys my neighbor has a 74 z28 with 49 k on it in that med blue color Hawian Blue?
i always wanted the car.
I started it about 15 years ago maybe longer because it sat since the early 80's only to sit again.
I started it back then because she was going to sell it to me.
Here are two pics of the car. Is this thing cool?
She did do some changes from stock but she is supposed to have the original parts to go with.
She did craigar wheels, chrome side pipes, L88 hood, gauges, typical 80's style car What do you guys think ?

Well as you said, it's not really a Z28, it's an LT badged with 69 emblems. It's hard to tell the condition from the two pictures, but I sure wouldn't pass it up considering she'll give it to you for a labor swap!

Oh it is a real z28, Stamped right on the "COWL TAG"
This car is one of the cleanest survivor's out there!
If i wanted it bone stock i just have to put the stock emblems on it and the BORING flaT hood and the original wheels
She has all in the garage to go with... it's not free either one
Happy Day!!!:)

Toss up that trim tag. I can break it down for you. He Vall. I thought the same thing. Here's a pic that pretty much says it all. Its from the 74 brochure. BTW if the car didn't have these stripes it would badges.

Well I thought someone was making it into a Z28 with the early badges. I guess I'm still confused on the whole thing. Is she NOT trading work on her other car for the Camaro? Thought that was what you said in the first post before you edited it????

You're not imagining it, I read that about the labor trade too.

I thought the same thing. I had to do some reading. I didn't see his first post so I don't know what else you guys are talking about.

To the OP, if it has an HEI dizzy its a later 74'. Interesting find though.

My wife used to have a 74 Z28 with Type LT option or maybe it was the other way around. It had no air was a posi 373 model. It said in the options list that with the muncy trans, you couldn't get air conditioning. It was called a special high performance engine which I believe was an L82. It had solid lifters and was pretty stout for it's time. Wish I could get it back It's supposed to be in the Bristol, Tenn. area. Maybe one day I'll find it.
I got a few pix, If I haven't already posted them, I'll put them on. It's been 2 years since I've been on here. Thanks for lettin' me put in a nickels worth...

I think you should teller its not worth much and you do want it cause it is a pc of junk. Then send me her phone number.

Of course I am joking, I would love to get may hands on a 74 Z with a 4 speed :)

Car should have a HEI ignition (There are some very early 74 Z's that had points) It should have the 245 HP 350 and a 12 bolt rear (3.42 or 3.73s). If it was a stick it could have a M20 or a M21. If it had a M21 just the rear and trans would be worth over 2K.

Stock there is a seat interlock that will not allow the engine to start unless the seatbeat was latched. (it was the only year for that.)

I think most 74 Zs where ordered without the strip kit. I like it but to many it is/was ugly.

Type LT Zs where very common. Id beter there are more 74 Zs with the Type LT package then there was without.

The whole back end of the car has been painted emblems installed where they do not belong and holes drilled thru the hood. It may be a soild numbers matching car but "the cleanest survivor's out there" is a bit of a stretch. I have looked at dozens of untouched 74 Z's one I remember one that had 1800 miles on it.
