Default starter problems

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum but recently I bought a 67 camaro. But back to the reason I'm posting. I have been having trouble about one day a week starting my car. From what I can tell it is some sort of wiring problem and/or solenoid problem. If someone could give me an idea where to start looking for the problem it would be great.

The starter isn't turning. But when I let it sit overnight I get about one shot at getting it started then the starter stops turning. My best bet is its the solenoid but I'm no mechanic and really don't know how to describe the problem fully.

I was under the impression that the function of the solenoid was to push the starter in to spin the flywheel/flexplate. If I am correct, then it sounds like your starter needs to be looked at. I would take a look at it or take it to AutoZone. I think they can test them for you, for free.

if you pull the starter out, just bench test it with a battery and see if its working, there may be a bad connection someplace
