Default 69 Camaro Shake at 55 mph

Hey guys i have a 69 camaro with a 350 small block in it, and im having the problem of the whole car shaking at 55mph, then kind of leveling out as you go past 60 mph? Anyone else have this problem ever? The front wheels were just replaced, and new shocks and bearings were put in. If anyone has any suggestions please advise. Thanks

Hi,
My name is Lynn, live in Ga. I also have a 1969 ss camaro. I can't say that I have ever had the problem you refer to. Mine has always had smooth handling no matter the speed. I'll ask my husband, as he is the mechanic and see what he says. Will get back to you.

I would recheck the front shocks. I had the same exact problem and it wound up being the front shocks lower bushings being bad.

you should have the rims checked to see if they are warped then check the balance of the rear tires too. it will most likely be one of the two.

I had a car do the same thing one time, turned out to be a U-joint, but it could be all of the other things mentioned as well.
