Will an early 90s 5 speed fit in a 70 camaro? Im looking to do an automatic to manual swap but can't afford a brand new tremec tko, neither can I afford the crummy gas mileage of a 4 speed. Will I have to modify anything to make it fit?

yeah sure it will bolt up no problem as long as u have all the right parts to complete ur system, then if ur getting more than 250 ft tq,you will blow it up,thats why gm never put the 350 tpi mated to a 5 speed.

Yes, it depends on which 5 spd you use, and how you push it. Since the OP simply said 5 spd, and not T5, it could be the T56 5 speed, or the T5.
BTW, my brother in law has had a '85 Z28 with a 350 TPI and T5 five speed for many years and it's held up well.

From what I've seen if you baby it, it will live. I think he's referring to the standard T5. Other than complete failure I've seen the shifter bend from bang shifting. If you can get the whole set up from the donor car you'll be ok.
BTW a four speed won't be any worse on gas than a TH350. They are both 1:1 final drive.
