Default 3.90 Gears & Posi Question are these brands junk????

Anyone ever heard of Yukon Duragrip Posi and Motive Gear R&P gears before??? I saw deal for 3.90 gears and this posi but never heard of the brand before. I will be at the track twice a week want to know if they will hold up. I have a 81 Camaro Z28 ZZ4 crate engine 3in exhaust. I have the frame connected and ladder bars. Car is really in good shape inside and out. Brand new T350 trans stage 2 trans pack B&M 2400 stall speed. If you had either brand in your Camaro please let me know are they **** or good. I was thinking Richmond gears and Auburn posi unit I can’t go spool I had it before but I like to take turns hard on the highway and a spool would put me in a wall. I am looking to go 12.50 or better. Also how about the heads on the ZZ4 or the cam should I keep the head and port them and match the manifold while they have the heads.

I just recently rebuilt a junkyard rearend for my 70 camaro('75 10 bolt rearend) w/ moser axles, richmond 3:23 gears, timkin bearings, and an auburn limited slip posi, and it is very nice now. had some problems initially with the crush sleeve, had a shop press it to specs. No more problems. I also have a ZZ4 and a TH350. Really dont know what all the fuss about 12 bolts are--you can make a very strong 10 bolt w/the right parts. I get great launches and can still go on the highway w/it (3150 rpm @ 65 mph) kinda have the best of both worlds. Auburn makesexcellent posi units and I couldnt be happier with the rear I put together, You are looking at a different application, but Auburn and Richmond gears are the way to go in my opinion.

Thanks I thought so I had 9 or 10 F-Body Camaros and had Auburn and richmond gears and no problems. I am going with the 3.90 since the 4.11 was to much and 3.73 does not seem enough. Any other advice like MSD 6AL I am also going with Comp Cams 1318-16 - Comp Cams Pro Magnum Roller Rocker Arms. You think with these installed 12.50 is possiable on a 3600lb Camaro?

I can tell you that the MSD 6AL does smooth out the idle and helps give a good powerband. Worth the $. The instructions from MSD are good, Id suggestthe blaster coil, and Im sure you already have the HEI distrib. I have iridium plugs and the 6AL w/edelbrock carb and hooker super comp headers. Havent been to the track, keep meaning to get there. I also have a digital dash that gives me 1/4 mi time, but the new rear threw it all off, needs to be recalibrated. Cant tell you much about the rocker arms since I havent touched them, I think you could pull off 12.50 with your plan, though.

The MSD is great I had the 6AL in my other Camaros and they are great I am getting the complete package from jegs with coil. I have a Holly dual feed double pump that was recommended by Chevy for the motor and complete 3in exhaust from Flow Master. You have a digital dash for a F-Body Camaro? I have a 81 please tell me I can get one for my car that would be the best thing ever I thought they didn't make them for my car. My friend used these rockers and they were a great addition for $336 and the motor felt so smooth. I hope 12.50 or anything in the 12's I will take 12.99. Thanks

The digital dash is from dakota digital (dakotadigital.com) It kicks *** big time, but its expensive.... not sure if they make one for an 81, they will make a custom dash if you get a junk yard one and send it to them, (for an additional fee, of course) also have digital tail lights/blinkers from spaghetti engineering, have gotten ALOT of compliments on them although I dont think they make them for your year. Let us know your numbers when you are done.

I could care less about the price I bet you car looks 300% better with that dash. I can never find anything good for my 81 it sucks. I am going to Atco Tuesday just to see what the car runs with no rear. I will be there Sunday for the swap meet I have so much stuff I am hoping to trade with someone.
