Hmmm, I wouldn't think it would be too difficult if you're used to metal fabrication. Maybe relocating the engine mount brackets but I would think that would be about it as far as slapping the engine in. Though I don't know about the mounts for a V6 and their location. GM HEI will control the firing order on the engine and should be in the distributor for the new V8. Unless you're planning on doing a LSX or fuel injected engine swap of some sort then that's a whole other monster.

I'm surprised that Camaro69, 1972BB427 or Nomad haven't come in on this thread yet.

What type of transmission is it? You may want to make sure it is something that will handle V8 torque.

I would have but honestly I have never done the swap. To be perfectly honest all my cars were factory v8 cars. Crap even my dads jeep (the very first engine I worked on) came with an AMC 304. I know on G bodies the fuel lines are on the opposite side of the car for 6 and 8 cylinders. I don't think its the case with Camaros though. Let me go to the Camaro bible and take a look. I'll post pics if the motor mounts are different.

I do know the motor mounts are in the farthest forward holes. I will snap a pic tomorrow. The 78 is at my dads with no sheetmetal on the front. Should be a good pic.
