If you're talking about the blue that originally came on your car, the paint code will be on the trim tag: 1979 Trim Tag Info
Oh, and I moved this from the projects section to the general section, since this isn't a project build thread.

Chevy listed three blues for 79. Code 22 was light blue metallic, 24 was bright blue metallic and 29 was dark blue metallic. What yours is.... looks blue! LOL

I don't think the gut in the pic knows what color either. The paint match on the cowl hood is now where the same color as the car. It must stick out like a sore thumb in real life.

That's how I bought the car, whoever tried to color match the car with the hood color was color blind... I plan on completeing the half assed project the last owner started by sand blasting the whole car and starting fresh, there are some bubbles starting so I want to catch them before it gets bad. But I have no clue what color it is.... It seems to me almost like gm lemans blue..... I'm not too sure, it is not the orginal color, there's a chip and I can see another layer... But it was blue before....

A well equipped body shop will have a hand held paint scanner, which will give you a color match.

It should be on the trim tag. If it was blue originally. It looks like the factory color. My 78 was that color. Don't know the name.
