Default Is This a 1977 Camaro??

How do I tell if a base Camaro is a 1977 or later year?

Is this car a 1977?

I ask becuse I could not find a picture of any 1977 Camaro with the black bumper pads/protrusions.

Looking at the VIN will tell you the year: http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-ca...second-gen.asp
The color of that filler panel means nothing. It would normally be body color, but anybody could have stripped the paint off, or repainted them.

I was refering to the vertical black bumper pads. I did not think the 77s had them in the back.

Oh, you're talking about those....maybe someone added them. Could be someones granny once owned the car and a family member put those on so she could play bumper-cars!

I want to say yes it is because i have a 77 and on the front and rear bumper there are cut-outs exactly where the pads are on yours. Maybe it was an option no one opted for lol. Everything else looks the same other than trim but mine is an LT.

My 77 Type LT has the vertical bumperettes. I believe they were standard on the Type LT and optional on the base Camaros. I also think they came as a set. i.e. you could not get just front ones.

I don't know what year it is, but I can tell you 78 was the first year without exposed bumpers. So its definitly not later than 77.

It's a 75-77. Give us the VIN and we can find out.
