Default 1976 Camaro Carpet Question

Hi All:

First time on this site and looks pretty interesting. Question I have is that I have a 1976 Camaro that was built in October of 1975. Came with the 2 piece carpet from the factory. I have pulled the original carpet and on 2 seperate occasions replaced the carpet with a molded 1 piece from 2 seperate manufactures. Looks ok, but the fit is just not there! It is loose in spots where I feel it should be more formed and molded. Real problem area is by the accelator peddle, and by the transmission hump (tunnel), where there is a llose fit. I am not using a console, and have trimmed the console brackets off flush with the tunnel. Car originally came with a stick as well.

My question is: Since this caris a 1976 but was actually manufactured in 1975, should I purchase a 2 piece set thatis available for the 1975? I figure that the 2 piece set would be easier to deal with anyway, as that is what came out originally.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Brian

Default RE: 1976 Camaro Carpet Question

your car is a '76 than when you buy parts, you buy parts for the year of your car ('76), not it's actual manufacture date

who did you buy your other carpets off of? did you let them sit in the sun at all before you installed them?
