You're kidding, right? Did you read the post by SNOTROD just a few posts below this post?

If you want a 70 Camaro, I would look for one to purchase instead of trying to clone one from an 80. You will have a lot of metal to repalce.

Looks like it is cheaper to buy a 70 to start..lol

It would have been much eaiser if your car was a 1977 or earlier, as those fenders are the same once the extensions are removed.
At this point you can save your hood, but you'll need new front fenders, a new header panels, lower valance, headlight buckets, turn signals, bumper, core support, basically everything forward from the firewall, excpet the hood. The cost will be pretty high, unless you find used or donor metal. If you could find a whole front end clip from a 1970-73, that would probably save the most. I personally think it will look weird with a molded rear bumper and the little chrome bumper on the front. |
yea i understand but this is the basic look im going for http://www.superchevy.com/features/c...aro/index.html and iv looked for the front clip anyone got any ideas of where id get one? and also if i did do this it would give it the more muscle car feel im looking but would mess up with the originality of the car... pros cons?

I like the rear and front of the 1970 much better myself and if I had the money would opt for one over my 1980. But no matter how you look at it, BOTH the 1970 and 1980 will only go up in value as they will never be produced again and are getting harder to find.. |
well being 16 its not a matter of money its a matter of family saying i gotta stay with the 1980 but im just gonna keep it original since it will be worth more in the end thanks

You'd find that people from either end will not appreiate what you did, if you put a 1970 front end on it. Those who love late 2nd gens will hate it, and those who love early 2nd gens will hate it. It would always be neither, and a limited number of people who would appreciate all the time and money spent.
Now if it was left alone, or completely changed as junkman did, then it would be appreciated by all. |
