Spare tires

Don't believe it was an option. Even if it was, I don't see GM omitting the bracket.
Could be you're looking at restored cars that had the trunk pan replaced, and the bracket wasn't added back on.

The car is a CA car with all original metal and original trunk paint and theres no sign of a bracket anywhere? Its also a strange X car its X44-1 no one has ever told me what the dash one means. I have no build sheets so like most Im in the dark a bit. I did notice the current 350 had to have smaller engine mounts welded on which tells me it was once a big block car. I have the doors off now to do some work so Ill be doing alot of reseach soon. Thanks

Only other thing I can think of is if the car was ordered with a space saver spare (collapsible tire, not a donut). Still not sure if they would have left off the bracket though. Only 2,228 of those spares were ordered, which is only about 1% of all 69's built. I doubt you're seeing very many, if any of those.
Not sure about the -1 code. I've read that it may have been an internal tracking code used at the Van Nuys plant. Of course, if yours isn't a Van Nuys car, that blows that theory.

I think it's something you're doing, or not doing actually. When looking at the pictures in your album, you need to click on one to open the full size. Then click on the IMG code and paste it here. The copy and pasting procedure changed when photobucket "upgraded".

spare
Thanks guys but for the record THE PIC! It shows you in its original 44 yr old condition theres no spare bracket welded in for the "J" hook. So where did the spare go? My car was the 1984th made and it was a Van Nyes car so there was no space saver yet either?
