Default Restoring 68 Camaro-Need help selecting color

I am fresh to restoring Camaros and have no Idea what I should do so any input is greatly appreciated.

About my car:

It is a 1968 with 327 V8 and Automatic Floor Shift. Have no idea what type of tranny or how to check to see if it is numbers matching. It does have the tag on the firewall and the original paint code is T-T which decodes to Palomeno Ivory. Interior was originally gold. If in fact the car is all numbers matching, should I do redo it in the original factory paint code T-T to get the most resale value or do a mild resto mod, gunmetal gray with upgraded wheels...

Also, please tell me where to look for the numbers to see if it is numbers matching and what numbers it should have...

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Plane Jane cars like that do just as well if not better as a resto-mod when it comes to resale. If it was something special like a numbers matching SS396 or Z28 then go for all original. If it needs a full restore it's pretty clean slate to do as you like, as for resale value just make it as nice as you can spending as little as possible and maybe you'll break even. lol

Totally agree with Y2K; resto mod for the win when it's just a plain jane Camaro.

I am always perplexed how to answer a question about what paint color to use when asked this, so my standard answer is "Are you planning on selling it or having fun with it". I've restored cars and made hot rods and only 1 have I ever painted it the same color as what it came with, so my friend paint it what you want to. You can find people that will give you a fair market value either way, so enjoy.

If it was a special vehicle; Z28, SS/RS, then go with a full-on resto and original color, but with your car, you are free to go in any direction you want with very little effect on overall value. I would not paint it Palomino Ivory unless that is a color you really like.

In this case I would go with a mild resto, now if you could get a buyer lined up ahead of time you could paint it his or her color.

It's your car, so do as you please. If you are doing it solely for a flip, then I'd go with whatever color is currently 'hot' and get it to market ASAP. If you are going to use it for awhile, then shoot it in a combo that you like. Remember one thing; the more you 'personalize' a vehicle with any trendy graphics, etc., the more you limit your market for resale. I usually go with factory style, or conservative stripes so the car is never 'dated' (like the pastel, mono-colors of the late 90s or scallops).
