15 inch tires

I have a 67 Camaro conv. I have been running chrome rims 14x6 with 185/70/14 in front and 245/60/14 in back. One thing to note is I went small in front due to rubbing. Also, when I put the 245/60/14 in front , they rub.
But right now I have a set of steel rally wheels on which are 15 inch and running 215/75/15 in front with no rub.
I want to keep with the 15 inch combo, so that I can install disc brakes, also I like the look better.
But, I want a better looking tire (prob. white lettered) to go on the 15 inch rims.
Could somebody suggest a tire size I can install in the front, with those 15 inch tires, that will not rub??
The car has standard suspension, no drop.
Thanks
Barry

Good question Barry. I've been looking at a lot of tires too lately. If the 67 clearance is like the 69, I would suggest 225/60/15 in the front and 235/60/15 in the back. I think a 70 profile would work too but I haven't seen any cars with that tonight.:icon_beerchug:

Older thread, but I'll add my setup for future reference.

Honestly, I have to spend a half hour pulling the wheels off to get the backspace info, but the fronts are 215/70-R15's and the rears are 255/60-R15's. I'm not experiencing any front rubbing at all. I think the front wheels are 6"wide and I'll try to confirm that as I bought these used and mounted. The rears are 8" wide, and the wheels are chrome rally's by Wheel Vintiques.

Originally I had a 2-1/2" exhaust system from the headers back, and exhaust exited behind the rear wheel... banging and bumping all the time. Now have a full 3" PYPES SS exhaust, exhaust exits out under the rear bumper panel with PYPES polished 3" tips. No more exhaust rubbing, but I had a custom exhaust shop massage the tailpipes after the over the axle section.😁
