ENGINE VIN IDENTIFICATION

Default ENGINE VIN IDENTIFICATION

I am looking at a 68 "numbers matching". Only problem i have is the first digit of the stamp on the engine isnt the same as the vin. The vin is 78**** the engine is 18**** . Whats up with this.

Which vin are you looking at on the car? Also, I think there is something about the numbers not being exactly the same, as in only the last four numbers will match or a partial vin number on the block, but not too sure.

these should help clear things up for you...the engine should be 18Nxxxxxx (the last six numbers of your Body VIN tag).
