The main problem that you are gonna have with that swap is the oil pan being WAY to deep and the intakeWAY to high. It can be done. $1000 is a pretty good price if it runs and doesn't have any error codes on it. I'm not sure if you have done any research on this swap, but if you haven't you need to know that you will have to have the coputer plashed and reprogrammed to let the motor run in a different vehicle. If you got the transmission with the motor then that is even better/easier. I had John at www.speartech.com do my engine harness/computer flash and it was the best $750 I had ever spent. Ever. I don't know if he works with the 8.1 or not but I am sure he could figure it out.

I've seen that engine in 2500s dualies. I did something similar, taking a 7.4L 454 out of a 3/4ton C20 Sub. I had to buy a Milodon oil pan and milodon oil pick up. Also I first looked at the standardbig block engine mounts for a 69 camaro. The ones i found at autozone, checker, and napa were all made somewhere in thailand or something, so of course they didn't fit. To make it work out i had to shave 1/4 inch off othe center of the mounts which connect to the subframe (sorry not sure what to call them, but they are not engine mounts.) then weld them back together.Good luck with the computer on that 8.1
