Many racers don't realize how long a big block can last. Back in the day I worked in Amish country. They used to build a lot of those back yard barns, the company I worked for a company that oversaw the maintenance on the "barn haulers" which were one ton duellies with 454's in them. The company had a policy 250,000 miles and swap out to a new engine. I can not remember any not making it to 250k and I remember the waiting list from us mechanics to get the removed engines. Since they bought new GM engines there was no core required. Most of the guys had at least one car with a 454 in it. LOL

neet stuff ,i want to do a BB block is on my bucket list too ,guess this guys not to interested ,dont matter we are ,some of the 3rd gen cars make the best cars for BB builds if one is on a budget that kid from street outlaws has a 92 rs Derrick it got pretty close to the top with that car #3 one time ,though he was known to go from BB back small block, but i seen interview with him,an he was allways on budget ,where as some of the guys got the money too,but there are plenty of gen 3 cars one can get cheap with alot of space for the big block as well as some gen 2 cars
