302 cam
is there an aftermarket cam that can give the 302 better low end?

Probably a modern hydraulic cam but that old solid lifter cam is a sweet sounding cam.
I don't think you'd gain much and might sacrifice top end performance doing so,the 302 is a short stroke high rev race bred engine and never was designed for smooth low end operation. That's one reason they only came with a 4 speed stick.:icon_wink: |

i also love the sound of those cams.
If memory serves the 302 cam was the same old 30/30 cam that came in Corvette 327's,the lack of low end power has more to do with the 302's short stroke than the cam itself. I think most of the aftermarket solid lifter cams will likely be even more radical and not help you gain low end power. |
