Default 1967 RS headlights

New to early Camaros and this forum, have a question on the 1967 RS headlights. One side works well the other side closes fine but when opening it doesn't engage the limit switch and the motor continues to run. If I push in the button on the limit switch it will shut the motor off. I adjusted the limit switch by putting a couple of washer behind it moving it closer to the door. However the same results. It seems as if the motor doesn't have enough force to close and activate the limit switch.

Question is; Is there an adjustment that would make the door open with more force so the it would engage the button on the limit switch? If not does the motor need to be replaced?
: . .
Thanks, Ed

Welcome, Ed, to the Club
Switch has to be closed, as you have seen.
Once both doors opened, are they exact opposite of each other?
As in the same arc travel?
Switches dimensionally located the same on both sides?
Loosen bucket hardware and let motor position the bucket when commanded?
Can motors be swapped easily seeing if problem follows, or stays?
Move switch closer after looking to see if there is no binding of door opening when commanded.

Thanks for your response, in playing with it I found that if I tighten the nut on the bottom of the bolt that forms the post the door hinges on that it would now open and trigger the limit switch. Not sure if was the correct adjustment but it worked. The door now has the same resistance as the door that was working when it opens.

Thanks, Ed
