Default Transmission Cooler

Anyone use this type cooler for their transmission? I have the "radiator" style in front of my regular radiator and would like to eliminate it. I believe having the trans cooler in front of the radiator degrades some of the regular radiator performance.

never heard of one in front of radiator. ive only seen a air conditioning condenser there. all the stock trans coolers i have seen are built in to the radiator.

I think he means he has an aftermarket fin and tube style in front of his radiator but wants to switch to the above style because they are placed underneath the vehicle and not in front of the radiator.

IMO, they do not hinder the performance of the radiator enough to make a difference. Air is still flowing past the cores regardless, just a little warmer in the section that the trans cooler sits...but not enough you are going to see difference. Food for thought, most tow package vehicles that include a auxiliary cooler are placed in front of the radiator/ac condenser, as is the case for both my D-max and Grand Cherokee.
