I have a Muncie 4 speed and trying to figure out what it was originally installed in . Date code looks to be P9J04A which should be Dec 4 , 1969.
The partial vin number looks like either 1 or T9K368014 . That first letter sort of looks like a T but could be a 1 or I .

Slowly getting all the parts to put this car pretty much back to stock. Get the frame extension cut off next week so can remove the subframe . The extension welded to the body, not real smart as made removing subframe impossible Would have been so easy to just bolt it up

More info looks like it is a 1 beginning the VIN number. looks like the assy date actually should be Dec 1968 for a 1969 car from what I can find. Casting numbers all consistent with 1969 model year,
Shift rods are numbered , front rod 2139, middle rod 2438, reverse rod Is 3 unreadable 04.
doesn't have a shifter, but does have the shifter mounting plate, here is picture of it. Looks similar to what I had on a 1969 Z28, but memory that far back a little foggy

There is so much information available today that conflicts, I'm not sure what is correct. I have used this to determine the partial VIN for Corvettes in the past and it seems to be accurate.

The 9-digit code will tell you which division, year, model, assembly plant, and car the transmission was pulled from. The first digit tells what division the transmission is built for (Oldsmobile's number is 3). The second digit is the last digit of the model year (7=1967, 9=1969, etc.). The third digit is the code for the assembly plant the car was built in. The last six digits should match the last six digits of your VIN (generally found on the door hinge of 1964-1967 models and on the left top side dash of 1968-1972 models).

The last six digits of the sequence should reference the specific car the trans was in (300001 = Nova, Chevelle).

Thanks, no idea what it came out of. Hoping that the shifter mount will work in my 67 SS/RS with console . I remember the problems people had with the Muncie shifter back in the day, so want to go with a 69 Competition Plus Hurst shifter. Hoping I can use the rods and mounting plate on it already

The trans came out of a 69 Chevelle that was built at the Kansas City plant.
On the input shaft, how many grooves does it have? 0, 1, or 2? Not Sure, post a pic of the front shaft.

Hi, is a 2 groove 10 spline, should be an M20 2.52 1st wide ratio transmission. Rods and shift arms look to be 1969 Chevelle, as well as the mounting plate, so don't know if they will work or if will need to get a shifter kit with correct arms and rods.
They had to enlarge the hole in the floor to put the T5 in and it is the canted one. So know for sure will need another bellhousing and clutch linkage . Has a hydraulic clutch now and don't like it at all. It either all in or all out, no in between. Feels like has the old "Rev Lock" flywheel in it
