suspension heigth

So I need a little help, I have a 1968 camaro I converted from drum to disc, had the front suspension rebuilt and now the front is way higher then stock, like 7 or 8 inches from the ground to the cross member. I did put 17" wheels on but Im not sure whats going on here. Any ideas?

First of all welcome to the forum!

I don't think I personally can help you much because I don't have any experience working in first gens. It may be that your old springs were bad and the new brought it up. Could you show us with a picture?

You may want to ask over in the 1st gen section as this suspension forum doesn't get much traffic.:icon_shrug:

You had the front end rebuilt- did they remove the control arms and replace the bushings?
new springs? How much experience did the shop have??

Two things I can think of could cause that;
1) the springs are not sitting properly in the pocket on the control arm,
2) the bolts were tightened while the front end was 'unloaded' (off the ground) and it's causing binding.
The bolts should always be tightened when the car is on the ground and the suspension fully loaded.

This one is only a little over a year old, I believe they are getting better.
