Polyurethane or not?
 

I plan to change the rubber on my car 68 coupe, 350 engine, 10 bolt rear : body mounts, rear leafs bushings, shock bushings, sway bar bushings, upper and lower arms bushings...
Most are worn, dry and cracked.
Rock Auto list Economy, Daily Driver or HighPerformance products, some are regular rubber, others are polyurethane.
Since I am not replacing shocks and leaves, will I see a difference between rubber and Poly?
Did any of you has any experience with various quality levels from RockAuto?

For a street car I would use rubber for the subframe bushings .Its a less harsh ride with all the wonderful roads we have today .And greaseable polyurethane sway bar bushings so they don`t squeak .That what I use on my 1979 Z-28 RS ,I have never used RockAuto I have always used my local speed shop,But to each their own Good luck to you. .

Poly is okay, you won't notice the difference. RockAuto is fine.

I will get the Polyurethane bushing kit. Just a detail but we can get it in red or black.
Thought red might make a modern look on some places but I am afraid this is too "bling bling". Any one used red?

Red is too flashy I always use black to match the rubber frame bushings

I am changing all the rubber so woudn't have a problem with matching another color but I will go to black as I came to the same conclusion as you, red is too flashy, there is nothing red on the car and it would just another (albeit discreet) color.

FWIW, the guys on the Corvette Forum (C1/C2) are almost unanimous against poly. I have some of em on my C2, all of em over 20 years old. The A-arm bushings are still good. Front sway bar link bushings disintegrated, but the bar bracket bushings held up. Rear suspension link bushings disintegrated. All from Energy Suspension. So, what was good about em? Front end alignment didn't budge. Never needed reset on caster/camber. What was bad? Some disintegrated. Car squeaks. Rides like a truck. Would I use them again? No.

Too late for me, received the kit from Energy Suspension.

I've had the Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings in my car since 1998. The upper bushings squeaked at first so I removed them and greased them real well before putting them back in. I greased them initially but it wasn't enough. They've been squeak free now for 20+ years.

Thats why I use the greaseable ones when possible
