A butchered up subframe

My 1969 Camaro has a butchered up sub frame.Mine is beyond repair, someone has been into this one before me with patch panels welded in it.I am not using it,counted 16 patch panels put in and it looks horrible.I have found a couple used ones, bent in certain places.I priced a new sub frame,$1,600.00 for the factory subframe.I have a 6.0 that is going in it I built up good and I am going to be hard on this one.I am looking into a subframe made for high performance,a street/car.Which way should I go.

Check this place out, Checkered Racing, index

I know a guy that has one and he said it fit right in and he's really happy with it.

I'm looking at their Drag version.

You can look here for a LKQ frame:

I went with the Checkered Racing frame,a friend of mine put one in his 1967 Camaro and loves it.Ordered it on Friday. The old sub frame, none of the fenders never fitted right and the hood never closed correctly too.

Ya it sounds like the old one was just slap wore out. Hope the new one fits right into place for you. Please keep us informed.

Morrison, Heidts, Schwartz and a few others make excellent subframes for your application. Read up on each one your are interested in, then call them to see what options they offer and prices.
