My hubby finally got the garage done and we brought baby girl home. Spent last Sunday out in the garage taking the remaining interior parts out of the car and began scraping the old insulation off of the roof. I actually had my 10 year-old son out helping me. I'm excited to begin this project, and I know it is going to take me a year or so to get it done.













Below is some small detail work my hubby and I did before the garage was built and before Baby Girl came home. I'm excited to have her all here now though. Having her in storage for four months was painful.











Looking forward to having you all to talk to when we run into snags. I started by going to Rick's Camaro's and ordering all kinds of books to put the car back together. Started with the actual assembly line sheets and a Fisher Body Service Manual.

Ohh Ya, I cannot forget to post some pics of my hubby's project. He has had this '66 Ford F100 since he was 19 years old. His dad pulled it out of a salvage yard and had a cheap Maaco paint job put on it. Needless to say the Maaco paint job didn't last long. The '66 is named Betsie and she is getting a frame up resto also. Some enjoyment for any Ford enthusiasts out there.

 

Well welcome to the forum and looks like you got your hands full with these 2 projects. Am jealous of the nice big garage you have to work in. Good luck with everything.

Thanks for the welcome. I think we will enjoy the nice big garage too. We still have to put electricity in it and move the compressor so we can really get to work on these. It took my husband two months to build it, but he was doing all of it mostly by himself in the 100 degree heat. Good thing is, it is built and Baby Girl is out of storage and at home so I can play with her when I want to.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think we are going to need it. Sometimes impatience can get the best of ya and then you get frustrated because you know it is going to take awhile to do. Wish we didn't have to work full-time jobs then I could have it done really fast.

I have to say she is in pretty good shape, so it will be a little easier than having to replace a bunch of sheet metal. She has one small hole in the drivers side floorboard and this weekend we found someone had caked on the bondo on the rockers, so we will be replacing those also. The fenders have some rust spots on the bottom. We haven't decided if we should just replace the sheet metal that's bad or order new fenders. Luckily my husband is really good at metal work.

 

Looks like you've certainly got your work cut out for ya! Not sure where you live, but are you going to need heat in there too? That's a big space to heat, especially with no insulation and metal walls. I imagine it could get pretty hot in there too.

Who cares though right LOL< you've got a fantastic space to work on your car, and it will be exciting to watch your build progress over the next year or so!

Where are the doors and the front clip and trunk deck? Did you already pull them off? What about the engine? Do you have one that your going to use, or do you need that too?

Awesome project, and it looks like fun for the whole family! Your son is going to love driving in it when it's finished!

Smart girl buying that 69 ! Looks like a great project and one that will only go up in value. Take your time with her and have a plan. Don't get frustrated when the project takes a little longer than expected. Remember...it will all be worth it in the end. You will have a fine 69. Keep the pictures coming and good luck.
