Ohio 68 Camaro
We have had this car in our family before I could walk.(33now) My dad and I started bracket racing it when I was 16 years old with a mild 327sbc running 12's. We eventually stepped up our game after a few years and put a spool in with a roll bar and a 383sbc. 3 years ago was the last time that we ran it, and at the time was running low 10's.
Pic from 1999 when I was 17years old:
In '09 we installed a Smith Racecraft Frontend... We are planning to remove the springs and use Coilovers this time around, but here is a pic:
We also decided in '09 that rear wheels stuck out to far.. See Pic:
So, we decided a mini tub was in order:
Also, updated the cage to an 8.50cert. and added a chute mount. Now the car is at the Body Shop getting new quarters/fenders/trunk lid/smooth firewall, etc; Planning to change the color back to it's original sequoia green, and re-install the original vinyl top, front and rear spoilers.
The new engine is currently being built at Steve Morris Race Engines. Plans are a 4 hundred some odd cubic inch SBC with a F2 Procharger and air to air inter-cooler. This will be a blow-thru set up and run on pump gas. We are looking for somewhere around 12-1300hp. Should be a mean street/strip machine when it is finished:
