RE: my 69 camaro project

That is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! I have the replacement roof, but I wasn't sure exactly what to do or where to start. That helps A LOT. You are the best. I always look at your thread here to see how things are going for you!

Say where in FL are you? I am in Coastal Ga. Maybe after all is said and done we should drag race!!! Ha...jk. I will NOT drag race mine after I am done with it. Well.... maybe!

I hope he does a good job on the roof braces... I am sure that he will though...

Thanks! I live just outside of Orlando.....and no drag racing.........lol....although my husband would love to.

Well I wish there was more to report on the roof progress but the frame was supposed to come in today. I only took one pic of the roof of where he cut the last piece away.

As far as body work goes, he patched the small hole on the left rear quarter by the window opening.

And he repaired the left front cowel

Thanks. I am having so much fun with this project. And now that my job has really kicked in I can make some much needed $$$ to throw at it. Its really kind of overwhelming when you look at all the stuff you need. And it truly is amazing what some of this stuff costs.....like seat belts.....lol

So the roof frame kit is in and my guy got some of the frame replaced. He did the rear & center cross beams

RE: my 69 camaro project

I would think that this part would be the hardest to get right... It looks difficult...

RE: my 69 camaro project

Well to do the front cross section he has to weld a piece to the front corner beams before he cuts off the front. He doesnt want the car to shift in any way. Plus on the sides he has 3 different pieces that he has to reshape in order to be able to reattach the roof.

Like I said... it sounds difficult. I think that this sort of thing can really make or break a car. The thing is that your car didn't look that bad before he started, ya know? I wonder what my car is gonna look like underneath all that metal? :(

RE: my 69 camaro project

btw... how do you post your pics in the thread like that? Mine are all links like the "how to" thread says... tips?

RE: my 69 camaro project

Well the pics have to be hosted somewhere like on photobucket. Then if you look at the top right corner there is a little yellow image that looks like it has mountains on it. You click that and you can add the image URL. It starts with http. On photobucket you use the "direct link".

Only thing I dont know how to do is post the thumbnail pics.
