Is the acc pump black or green? The black ones will harden up from the E10 gas. Use a new green one. Does the check ball for the pump rattle?

Not sure what check ball your talking about the pump uses an umbrella style check valve between the bowl and the pump. I could not find anything on how to test it.

Its a 670 Street Avenger I bought in 07. It has the black seal in it. Model 80670-1
I was looking at this kit which looks like it has the Green Diaphragm

I got the cross brace mount fixed. I got some nutserts and they like they would be a stronger then original repair. I had to come with a simple tool to install them because the tool that is designed for installing them is a couple of hundred dollars. They work just like a pop rivet but the gun is 2+ feet long. If anyone needs more details let me know.

Nutsert

Nutser tool I used, I drilled out an old grinder wrench, this was needed to keep the insert from spinning. After that is was just crank the nut until it crushed. I would suggest a grade 8 Nut and Bolt to do the crushing. I just used a nut I have in my junk draw. Even with the correct forge wrench I damaged the nut.

Two repairs on one side, yes I need to replace the rusty exhaust, its on the list.

Nice tool design Gorn! I always called those expansion nuts, as long as it works it doesn't matter what we call them. Was the original brace missing or cracked?.

Missing, you can't really have dual exhaust with the stock one in place.

Heater core is out. Not a bad job, just bad for someone with a bad back and a surgical wound in the front.

Had some surface rust in the bottom of the heatercore enclosure. I sprayed it with a rust converter.

Rebuild kit and I found an igniter I bought a ways back and never installed.

Nice job on the core. When a couple early Camaro's I had for DD's, I would lay down a plastic sheet from firewall to seat to over the hump and over rocker panel for catching coolant and fast easy clean-up.

Keep up the good work, but be very careful with the back.

Ran the engine today but no test drive. I warmed her up and re-pressure tested it. It all looks good, I am going to need to do valve cover gaskets and maybe valve seals. The valve seals are 22+ years old. Engine bay is still a mess but its not a show car. The rust on the headers is annoying, back in the day Aluminum coated headers were suppose to not rust.

I hit up a local car show swap meet and I lucked into a pair of door panels. My original plan was to buy re-pop door panels so I could cut them and put speakers in the door. I would then restore my original door panels and store them. Rag tops really have limited space for speakers. I saw these and for $80 and snapped them up. They are used OEM and in a lot better shape them my original ones. I may just pack them up and cut up my original door panels. Before you judge me see below.

The swap meet score.

My original driver door.

I just need a reverse light setup and it should pass inspection. Hopefully I can get that early in the week. I am hoping to go back to work soon. If things go well this will be a very long thread. There are tons of things this car could use but I would like to get it out and enjoy it.

Just do what you can and when you are able. Good luck.
