Default 1969 Dash Pad Question

I bought a new Dash Pad for my 1969 Camaro and there is two depressions on the lower edge just above the Speedo and Tach. Each impression is about 5-6 inches by 1-1/2 inches.

How do one add a picture??? Is becasue I am a newoob?

How about some help here. Can someone please go check their car and tell me what you see? Is there a plate that goes into the well?

Thanks, Keith

Those indentations are there on my factory dash too. Only reason I can see is so you don't see the two mounting screws in each one, unless you bend down and look.
Nothing mounts or fits up into the cutouts, if that's your main concern.

Thanks guys, I think I'll make a doubler to fit into the well to keep the screws from sinking into the dash pad.

How did your doubler idea turn out. I just posted the same question, and then found yoyrs. I am considering the same solution. Thanks, Bob
