Default What's a fair price?

I'm considering buying a 68 Camaro std model. I have an idea of what I should be paying for it but it can't hurt to get other opinions.

Description: Body is immaculate with new metal all around, including roof, minimal filler used on weld seam. Very straight with new single stage paint job, including the frame which was sand blasted and painted. The only things missing on the exterior are the front headlights, bezels, housings and inner wheelwells. It has a newly rebuilt 283 with a mild cam (#'s are NOT matching) and turbo350 trans and 10 bolt rear. Needs carb, rad, gas tank, drive shaft, heater assem., batt, and other minors like overflow tank. Interior is missing except for dash, and seats which need to be recovered. All glass is there and good with a new front windshield.

So what do you all think would be a fair price?

around me thatd go for anywhere between 6k-10k, depending on the value of the work and condition of the items that are present

Honestly, for me that's a tough call since there are so many pieces missing. I think if it were me, I'd start with a base price of $18,000 or so and then start deducting the price of the parts your going to need to put it all back together. Take another couple thousand off and make an offer. But hey, that's just me and I could be way off base.

BTW, I'd factor in the paint as well. What kind of paint etc. I might even knock off a couple thousand just because it's not base coat clear coat.

i would think 3-5 range to many parts missing and why did it need all the metal replaced to begin with ? rust? major wreck?
i would rather have an original metal car because once they have been hacked that much they are never the same!!
interiors can run thousands for all the little pieces here and there.
283 nuthing special and without carb and fuel tank you wont know if its fresh or just a painted boat anchor!!!

To boil it down...other than the headlight assemblies and inner wheelwells, the body of the car is all restored and painted. If it has receipts for the newly rebuilt engine, then good. Needs underhood, drivetrain parts, and a complete interior.
Take a close look at the body, check all the body gaps for fitment (shows if it was a pro job or not), and look underneath the car and inside the trunk to make sure nothing was halfazzed together. Ask who did the work. If what you have is a good solid start, with a very nice paint job (yes you can still have an awesome paint job using single-stage), and with having only "some assembly required' left, then a realistic asking price should be closer to $10k.
