According to Classic Industries catalog the headlight mounting is different.

Important: the standard fenders are not interchangeable with Rally Sport fenders due to differences in headlamp assembly mounting locations.

The only difference between the two is the RS fenders have a mounting tab on the inner edge near the grill for the hideaway headlight mechanism to bolt to. You can buy the mounting tabs separately and attach them to standard fenders for mounting the RS headlights. Or you can remove, or bend back, the tab on an RS fender for a standard grill install. The fenders can be interchanged, with just a little fab work.

Also, you will find tyhe 67 and 68 to be different from the 69 as one set is vacume operated hideaway lights and the other is electrical.
In general though, the difference between the 1st gen RS from the standard IE SS, Z28 or coupe (which could also come with RS trim) is the headlights.

Wait, crap, I read it wrong. Nevermind, I thought you wanted info on the grill not the fenders.... well at least now you know about the grill too

Not sure if this will help or not - but here is a pic of a Rally Sport version of a fender. Notice the tabs around the headlight area (where the arrows are pointing). This is the mounting tab that Camaro 69 was referring to above. https://camaroforums.com/forum/pictu...pictureid=1235
