Whats a 1967 327 Worth?
Looking to Sell a 327 from a 67 Camaro Convertible 275 HP 4 Barrel but I need to know what an appropriate asking price is. The odometer said 78000 Miles when I pulled the engine.
3 #s I could find on the block are
852
H24 870
E 65 (think this is date code of block)
GM 3782870
I also have the whole matching numbers drivetrain from the car...

At first I was going to say not to sell it and keep it. But that engine isn't a matching numbers block to your car, it's from a 1965 Chevelle, Full Size car, or Corvette. Can you get any numbers off the front pad by the passenger side head? It would be good to know just what you have. It can make a difference in the value if it's a Vette engine.

Hmmmm
Guess my grandfather neglected to mention he had the engine swapped.... Are you positive it's not original??
I kinda found it odd when i saw the date code ending w/ a 5...
just kinda figured it was an early production block, guess i may have been wrong.
Where exactly am i looking for the # on the front?? I looked and looked but couldn't find anything.

not too much value unless someone needs it, but I'd rather get stuff like that out of my way than wait until someone "might come along" and offer top dollar for it (which probably isn't that much anyway).
my motto is buy high and sell low

5117687 is the partial VIN that matches the car it came out of.
F=Flint engine plant. 05=May. 12=12th day of the week. HE suffix code=1965 327, 300 h.p., 4 barrel carb, connected to a manual transmission. With it being a 300 h.p. engine, you just may have a Vette engine there. It's certainly not a "run of the mill" mill.
So, why do you want to get rid of it anyway?

This is what I found on:
http://www.nastyz28.com/gm-chevy-cod...s-suffix-5.php
HE 1965 327 m/t 300HP 4 Barrel Vette
So... now what is it worth?

We almost overlapped previous posts ^
It's not worth much, probably $100. I'll be right over for it!
Seriously though, it's worth more for somebody who wants to restore a "period correct" Vette, as opposed to someone else just wanting a 327. What kind of condition is it in? Is it sound, does it burns oil, does it clang clack or clunk? It all depends.
