Default What you think it will run in the 1/4 mile

1968 camaro ss 396 big block bored .60 over 390 gears in the back. 295/15.5/15 MT Pro Sportsmans tires, alum heads. Last year it ran 12.3 in the quarter with cast iron heads, spinning 30 ft out of the hole. Just kind of wonder what you guys think it will run.

^ You gotta read the fine print craby. Last year he had iron heads, now he has aluminum heads (a mystery brand).
I'm gonna guess.......a little less than 12.3.

I understand what Craby was saying, if he's spinning the first 30 ft from his hole shot, adding 40-50 hp with new heads is only going increase his spin resulting in a slower overall time.

But....the aluminum heads weigh considerably less.
That will:
Make the car lighter overall.
Make the nose of the car lighter...
Which will allow more front end lift...
Which will also give you better weight transfer to the back tires.

You know, you could do it the hard way and take it to the strip and let us know how it does.
Otherwise, we're just pulling numbers outta our azzes.
Whoops......another number just slipped out!
