WOW...Is all I can say. This car is a rocket ship!! I owned a 66 vette with an L75(300hp) and it was fast, but this Z28 is, well, WOW. I will be looking for a higher geared rear. This 4:11 setup is for the drag strip!!??. Although the block is a correct date coded DZ, it is not the original motor. According to the seller the engine(10K spent) has lightened pistons, and has been balanced. The plugs have been indexed so the electrode faces the intake valves? The car has about 300mi on a total engine/frame off rebuild. I will also need to check/adjust the valves? The cam is an off road 30-30, and has a wonderful sound through the hooker super comp headers. WOW, I love it!!
Anyway, I am looking for a higher geared rear(12 boit posi). Can anyone tell me if a set of 3:31's from a 65 chev. will fit? Or does anyone have a set of 3:73's for sale and/or how much should I expect to pay?? Thanks for all your help.
Here are some photos I have taken.

That is one clean looking machine!
"The plugs have been indexed so the electrode faces the intake valves?"
HUH? Unless some plugs are loose, I don't see how you can index the plugs to face a certain direction? Maybe different thickness washers?

Thanks jno. The plugs are all tight. They have "cups" over the threaded end. They are different colors. defines thickness? Plugs have a mark(black marker) on the white ceramic. The seller told me only to tighten the plugs(if removed) till the mark is at 12o'clock. He said if I tightened them any further, they might hit the pistons. This is all new to me. Perhaps someone here on the forum can jump in and help out here? As I said, I had been driving my 66 vette with an L75, and am not famalir with this setup. I am sure I am going to be looking for some help adjusting the valves. I was told by the seller that they are not as easy to adjust as hydraulics, and I would need to check them soon(everything is new and needs to be checked along with changing the oil). Any recomendations on type of oil? Do solid lifter motors need special oil?
I removed the center caps on the wheels and replaced them with a set of 67 disc brake center caps. Like them better.

Very Nice. Glad you got a good deal on a great Camaro. I dont know how you are doin right now but I assume you havent had any sleep since you put it in the garage. Unless youve slept in it?
When I brought my junker home I didnt sleep for a month, if I had brought that Z28 home I'd still be a walking Zombie. Enjoy it!
