Wanted 1968 SBC engine 350 casting#3914678

I'm looking for a chevy 350 engine bare block, short block or complete with the casting # 3914678. The engine must be rebuildable.

That is a fairley common block. It came in three displacements 302 327 and 350 all used the same block. Nothing special unless your looking for the 302 DZ block.

I'm figuring you have a 68 SS and are wanting to restore the car with the engine to be period correct?
If so, you also want the block to have either the MN, the MS (w/manual trans), or MU (w/powerglide) suffix code on the front pad.

Yes I am looking for this block so I can be year specific on my 68 SS project. The problem is that Im from WA state and have yet to locate either a rebuildable 3914678 block. If its more than a bare block or a complete engine Im looking for a 350. Would prefer the block to have a build date before 4/30/68 and with the MU stamping. Im still looking if anyone has any leads for me here on the west coast!!

let me know

Yes I check Ebay regularly but so far none have the correct pad stamp.

Still looking?

I didn't see this thread until just recently. Are you still looking for a block? I live on the Northern Oregon coast and I do have a 3914678 block, shoot me a message and I will respond with some pictures once I can get back to my storage unit. It's a factory refurbished block and still retains the 4" bore, and has the correct 350 crankshaft, cam and timing gears / chain attached. Let me know if you're interested.

I have a #3914678. I was told it is from a 68 Camaro or Corvette. Not sure if its a 302-350-327. It is in my 1965 Chevelle and the motor runs like a dream.. I was told it was a 327 at time of purchase. I am not looking to sell it but certainly, if it helps someone match up a block to a tranny and vehicle, I'd be willing to discuss.

This must be a google search thing. Looks like the original post asking for a motor was in 2012, the original poster found an engine, then it was woke up in 2016 now again. Wonder how many decades this will last. I see why other sites lock threads.
