Default Using 2nd Gen Parts

How many parts off a 2nd generation Camaro are usable on a 1st gen? I have a '67, and want to replace the mono leaf rear with multi-leaf springs. I have been told 2nd gen springs fit. Is this true, and if so, how many other parts are interchangeable?

Thanks

steering box if you reverse the pitman arm. nothing else is a direct fit except maybe speakers

You must be trying to salvage a second Gen car. The redesign in '70 was major, almost nothing matches the first 3 years. It can be done with a few things, but will require modifications. I'm slipping the '71 subframe under my '69 because it has disc brakes and a stronger front assembly. But, that's about it.
The seats might fit... I don't know.

You are on the money Jonny. I thought the '78 rotting in a neighbors yard may actually prove useful for my '67. I was told the leaf springs may fit, as there are aftermarket springs available that fit 67 to 81. I'm nota fan of the mono leaf. A Hotchkis set is the long term plan, but I was willing to give this a try just to see the result (if it were of any value).

Sure, why not. If you've got the parts there, it can't hurt to see if they fit.
That's what I did. I just unbolted my '69 sub and rolled the '71 underneath. I few measurements later I was cutting away and mounting it to the car. As of now, it's mounted up with most of the suspension re-assembled.
