That would be a nice find. I would consider trying to acquire it too, if only it didn't have a broken windshield!

I saw this on another web site. I like the pic so much I made it my desktop. Car has 7K on it and it even has the original plug wires on it. The guy that found it tracked down the owners and got them to sell it to him. He hinted he paid less then a grand for it.

I wonder if it's a real Z/28 though? It doesn't have a Z/28 hood. And slapping on an emblem is a lot easier than swapping hoods.

What does a "Z28 hood" look like? The guys over at team camaro seem very detailed and I can not believe they missed something that huge. Its funny howthe local "experts" told him it was a fake.

It looks real. Indec. of 68, the ZL/2 special ducted (cowl induction) hood became available for all SS &Z/28 cars as an option. It came standard on all pace cars and Copo cars.I have a 69 Camaro brochure (repro)and the page that describes the Z/28 has the standard flat hood pictured. I dont know how many Z/28s were produced with the standard flat hood. One sold on ebay 2 weeks ago for $54k. No x codes, just docs and protecto plate.

Wasn't trying to sound so cut & dried about the hood. Even though the ducted hood (some like to call cowl induction) was an option, it was commonly ordered for the Z/28 since the car was a performance model. Honestly, I can't recall ever seeing a Z/28 with a flat hood. But since the ducted hood wasn't available until December, there were some early Z's that only had a flat hood. Quite possible this one is an early model as well. I mentioned it as something else to be suspect of, and to take a closer look. I think those who like the 69 Z/28 almost expect it to automatically have the ducted hood. And I'm sure there are a number of 69 Z/28's that are now sporting the hood when it didn't originally have it when it was born!
Here's a good read: 1969 Z/28

Great read! So there were models A thru F of the 69 Z/28 and an increase of only $458 to $522.
A fiberglass hood was also available for the dealer optioned crossram, strictly for racing!
Can you imagine ordering that set up along with the RS package for your Z/28?
Im dreaming about it now! Thanks alot Camaro 69! jk
