Jeez, I think you guys are over analyzing it. Who says someone's daily driver has to get 20-30 mpg? Sometimes the fun of driving a certain car is worth the extra cost of gas. And if he has the disposable income to cover the cost of gas, good for him! At least he wants to drive the thing instead of putting it under a glass dome. Driving that car to and from work could be his form of recreation. Who here "wastes" gas going nowhere special while driving a boat, offroader, snowmobile, etc.? Best gas mileage isn't everything.

i hope you have deep pockets cause gas is gonna cost you about 300 a week driving back and forth to work if you live 10 miles or more from where you work!!
Dont wory about your gas milage man 2 or 3 is more like it.
Kidding aside i / my son is running a 502 vortech supercharged 9 psi boost cam at 260-270-680-697-Lobe114 making 890 rwhp and still getting 16-17 miles to the gallon the only thing that will hurt you is the 411 gears and depends what is your final gear ratio on the trans, i had to do a nine inch 342 gears, tremec 5 speed with the final crusing gear ratio of 230 to get the best of both world 16-17 mpg

dont really care how much he spends on gas! not my money
but as someone who has owned a car with 5-600 hp and running 4:11 gears it gets old fast as a dd, engine screaming at 5000 rpm just to maintain 65 mph to go any where!!
just cause another person dosent agree with your idea dosent make them a hater just been there done that!
have fun with it and enjoy it.
let me know how that first 30-40 mile trip in it works out for you?

I was kidding about the haters thing! I have every intention of doing a 6 speed swap so hopefully that will bring the RPMS down and I guess help on the gas but thats why they have big tanks. I have other cars to drive so I don't have to drive it but I want to put some miles on it! Not just pull it out to go to a car show or a sunday cruise.

A 6 speed has a 50% overdrive sixth gear. So whatever your current rpm's are in third will be cut in half when in sixth gear. In that case, definitely keep the 4:11's in the rear, and the engine will still be loafing down the highway.
