Default Steering wheel

Been working on my '68 for a lot of years now. Not a high dollar rebuild.

Anyway, I'm interested in changing out the old stock steering wheel for something nice.
Looked in the NPD catalog, & there are some decent one's in there.

Besides the wheel itself, what other components should I prepare to buy.

Think I can borrow a wheel puller. Have never swapped out a wheel before.

As long as you have a puller its pretty easy ,And which one are you looking at .I like the Comfort Grip optional wheel ,But to each their own.

I'd replace the turn signal switch while you're in there, the plastic gets old and brittle then breaks so you'll hate yourself for not doing it while you had it apart if it breaks.

Good idea to change the turn signal switch. Horn NOP also.

I like the looks of the wood one's.

Non power steering car. Is it more efficient using the larger diameter wheel ?

No power steering you sure don't want to go too small but the bigger the wheel the further you have to turn it to make the car turn.
I'd stick with a stock sized wheel.

When you order your new steering wheel, some companies like Grant, you also need to order an installation kit.
Didn't know if you knew that or not, so I thought I'd mention it.

Many aftermarket steering wheels to chose from. They come in different size diameters and also offset (how flat or deep the wheel spokes are). Deep dish steering wheel brings it closer to you and less, further away. A 14" wheel is a common aftermarket size that is smaller than stock and for many makes it easier getting in/out of car for taller people

On a side note, if you need a new spring for he horn wire a spring from a ball point pen works great

I have this basic Grant one, came on the car.
