Default !st generation Camaro

Hello All; I'm a newbie to this forum and need some help. I have a 1968 Z/28 Camaro that is all numbers matching except for the engine. I bought the car and it had a blown engine(shame shame) and I put in a 350 with Hi-perf parts. Now I'm looking for a 302 block with "MO" coding and other matching parts to complete restoration.

Was the original block destroyed beyond repair?
If so what a bummer,302's are few and far between so good luck.

Default 68 z/28

I really don't remember, it's been almost 40 years. I do remember that the intake/carburetor, 1 head/ehaust, and distributor was missing when I bought it. I believe it dropped a valve and blew out a cylinder.

Here's one:

Of course you're aware that a 327 and a 302 are the same identical block. It's the crank that makes it either a 302 or a 327. But if you're looking for a specific code MO, I wish you luck!

I have a 327 block from a 68 camaro. http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171786

This is a link of where I discuss the numbers etc. on it. It is the block, crank, rod, pistons and cam. No heads or anything else. It is engine code ME though. Seems like the general consensus is that this was a 68 block that went into a late 67 car.

a 68 z/28 needs a MO code block to be period and code correct
and in 69 went to the infamous DZ code
love to see some pics of that z/28!!!!

With less than 7900 MO coded 302 ci engines made in 67 [602] 68 [7200 +or-], chances are you will pay a pretty hefty price for a motor that is even close to the build date for your car. those engines blew up alot, 2 bolt mains , small journal crank etc. oh yea, post some pics of car
