Not my car, don't know the owner, just thought it was ridiculously low priced. I don't know if posting this here is acceptable and I appologize if it isn't but this is unbelievable. I'd buy if but I have a project. This isn't really a classified because it's not my car.

Once again sorry if this is the wrong place.

If it were closer than 3000 miles away and a year newer, I'd consider it, if only for that little plate on the dash. But it's not, so it's useless to me.

At least where I live, if you go through the proper channels, it can be legally worked around.

If, for example, the body of the car is too heavily damaged to be repaired, you can purchase a replacement body and apply through the assigned VIN program to either have the tag swapped or or replaced with a new VIN. Or if the VIN tag had already been removed, or illegible, or if you've replaced the dash, or modified the car; anything that might cause a disparity in terms of identifying the car can be put through the system and either have the original VIN confirmed and applied, or have a new VIN issued to it.

Seemed cheap for a parts car, or an incredibly ambitious parts car. Those floor new floor pans alone though are work at least a 1000 and maybe more, and new quarter and a trunk 2000 maybe, ofcourse this is if you did all the fitting and welding on the pannels, and for 6000 you've got a running rust free first gen camaro. I don't know much about first gen's just seemed really cheap.

DacMan
floor pans 600 -1000
rear quarters 1500 for descent complete ones, outer wheel wells 200
trunk pan, drop offs etc.. 200 or more
all the roof /window repair to channel 200 or so
new dash sheet metal as it was rotted as well 2-400
rocker panels 400
and this is just the stuff you can see
closer to 7500 with buying the car and parts and oh then you have to add a motor trans interior etc....
and if you pay for the sheetmetal work at least another 5-6 grand
looking at about 20-25 g with paint and a drive train??
and you still have a hacked up car that was a total rot box
in my opinoin your way better off and money ahead finding a nice solid body to start with!!

thats the thing with guys selling cars in this condition they say oh a trunk pan is like 40 bucks etc..(a crap rusted one from j.c.whitneys maybe!)
They also are trying to sell you what the car could be and not what it actually is (a money pit) and not a 50,000 dollar barret jackson custom restomod!
I contacted a guy in rockford IL selling a very similar car for 2000
said it was a 68 rs but none of the grille/headlight stuff was there firewall was rotted as was floors, trunk, quarters, roof from vinyl top etc..
he said he would trade for any 4 speed stuff so i told him i had 2 saginaw 4 speeds and 2 70-72 chevelle doors he needed about 150 bucks worth of stuff i had.
So i traded him for the car and a box of parts that came with it got it home and found disc brake front end, tilt floor shift column(2-300)
5500 redline tic toc tac very rare sold on ebay for 560.
4 corner power windows sold for 500 on ebay
power steering box and plenty of original descent ss trim
bought my 68 a month later or i would have kept the tac and power widow stuff!! dammit!
anyway i am certian the car was a L78 396 rs bb car but it was so rotten it wasnt worth saving as the vin tag was in the box of parts that came with the car and the rest of the dash was rust and dirt!
so they wont see 3200 for that car unless a fool and his money are soon parted!! JMHO
