Maybe I missed something earlier, but how do you know it has a 327 crank?

 

everything i have ever bought for the engine has been under the 327 pretense.. i will rule out later today if its a 350 or a 327..

 

Your ad says it's a Vette 350 with a 327 crank? That's my question. Externally, the engines are the same, and parts are interchangeable.

 

thanks again 69camaro, anyways i went to the shop the engine is on the ground intake manifold is off carb etc, i looked at the engine and i cant find any date stamp at all anywhere, i thought i saw some numbers just above the lip where you screw on the oil filter at the abobe it on the edge, other than that i cant see the date stamp anywhere there are some numbers that are behind the flex plate that is still on the engine that say th and a 6 io think...

i will have to scrub the engine to see if i can find the date its important to me just to rule out this mystery for me as to where the block came from not that itys worth anything to me i just want to know what im throwing away..

The engine block stamp GM is correct clear as day on the back of the engine, maybe the block is even later than 69 i just dont know i have to find the date stamp..

 

ok ok i looked at what you posted the link it appears i need to be looking noth and south versus east and west on the engine lol so tommorow im going back again to check numbers lol hopefully i can get a date..

What year is the engine if c stands for cheverolet? maybe a 1976 lol

 

The casting months of the year are alphabetical, A-L = 1-12.
That would make your "killer" engine a March 12, 1976 casting. No longer a special one!
Were there no stampings on the block pad in front of the passenger side head?
Some blocks had the #'s on a pad above the oil filter area.

 

hmm according to your guide i dont have enough numbers at first i thought there were some numbers just above the oil filter i will check again.. shouldnt the numbers be at least 6-8 digets? anyways i will simply junk it, i had a guy that was going to give me 150 bucks for her but now im thinking he can have it all it must be a 350 with 327 heads ..

 

If the numbers matched, you might have something.

It is an "010" block, which was supposed to be a better alloy mix. If you have someone with 150 bucks in his hand - take it. Keep what you need for your swap, but 150 isn't too bad for a rebuildable core.
