Default Resuming a Restoration for a 1969 Camaro

I just finished graduate school and now am going to finally be entering the workforce for good. When I started school several years ago, I had to leave my beloved 1969 Camaro in my parent's garage and let it sit. Now, it's time to start resuming the project.

A little history about the car. It is a decent driver '69 Camaro coupe. I purchased it in 2003 for $8500 and at the time it had a GM Goodwrench 350 in it and a TH/350 transmission, 10-bolt 3.08 rear end. I have since swapped in a 396 with roughly 400hp and done a few minor things to the car. It is LeMans Blue (although it's a cheap paint job) with a blue standard interior.

My plan for this car is to be a nicely done SS clone. I want to make a fairly authentic SS396 car (doesn't have to be perfect)...that is a good driver. My plan has been to keep it blue, add white hockey stick stripes and a semi-gloss black rear panel. However, over the last couple years I have very strongly been considering tuxedo black with white racing stripes (I know that's a Z28 paint job...but that's OK).

I think the next thing I want to tackle is the interior. I really like the deluxe black hounds-tooth interior. I want to at least change to a black standard interior...but I love the deluxe hounds-tooth. How difficult is it to convert to a deluxe interior? I know there are a lot of little badges and trim pieces that go with that interior. Also, who is the best vendor to purchase the parts from?

I wouldn't say it is too difficult to convert the interior as long as you have the time/money to put into it. I have taken my interior apart for various reasons and never had a problem. As far as good vendors, take your pick(Yearone, Rickscamaros, summit, etc...). Most are pretty good and similar price wise. One vendor may not have the lowest price on ALL the parts you need, but that is to be expected.

Good luck on the car.

the seats are the same just put new covers over them, for the doors you have to change the latch release handle, other than that its just a complete panel swap. on the dash the deluxe cars all have the woodgrain trim
