replace the center console with gauges ...

hello ,

when i bought my camaro i had the console with the clock in the middle but in the trunk there was also an console from the rs/ss version... So i want to install that one into my 68' Camaro . Now , my original engine was replaced by an 350 V8 2bolts from 1975 ( not sure about the date). So there are 4 gauges , 1 gauge is the pressure of the oil , so i have to connect an oil line from the engine to the gauge , simple !

The 2nd gauge is the one from the fuel tank , so i have to connect the one wire with the ground and the other one with the wire that comes from the tank meter and goes to the dash ( big fuel meter near the speedo-meter). Is that right ?

The 3th gauge is the one with BATT on , so i think that this has to do with the charging current / voltage from the alternator ... But i have 2 wires on that one , how do i have to connect them and where ? at my alternator i have the red one ( 12V to batterie ) and a plug with 2 wires , i think that this ones are for the light in the dash.

The 4th meter is for the Temp. So , is it possible to connect the sensor from the 350V8 75' with the gauges or do i have to buy an V8 temp sensor from 68 ? cause i tried to connect them but it wasn't such a succes ... I didn't know how to do it right so maybe you have to tell me :) i have a sensor with 2 wires ( 1 gnd i think ) and on the gauge i have also 2 wires ...

Please help me to figure out how to connect my gauges :(

it's this type of gauges : Camp 0902 05 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Center Console Photo 4

I just put this setup in my 69 with the exception of the Amp Meter, I changed mine out for a Volt Meter. Go to American Auto Wire, they have downloads for the wiring of this stuff. If you cant find what you are looking for just come back here and I will try to take pictures of my wiring diagrams and email them to you. Unfortunately I do not have a scanner.

I'd hafta look at home and see if that diagram is in my 69 service manual. 68 & 69 console gauges are the same, so the hookup points would be the same. As long as the wire color coding is the same, then we're good.

This might help.

Here is a link to the company Scooch is talking about. These instruction are for a 4 speed car.

These instructions are for usage of a wiring harness but you can adapt things.
