iwant toreuild a 67 camaro (haven't found the car yet, if anyone has a suggestion at where tolook?). i don't know much about rebuilding a car so i am wondering if there is a resource (book, web, etc.) anyone would recommend before i begin. any advice would be great.

Just remember when setting a budget tools will beone of yourbuget killers, almostas much as rust. You can find a decent mig for $300 but by the time in get the tank, a cart, a decent helmet, all the clamps and welders handtools you will have $700-$800bucks in it. Don't even get me started on paint guns.....

 

I'm right in the middle of restoring my 67 again. First time when I bought it as my first car in 1979. However this time it is a full restoration, inside too. I replaced all the sheet metal back in 1980, I could buy fenders, door skins, quarter panels right from GM. From the Muscle Car Shop in Calgary AB, they sold me the "Factory Assembly" manuel. It really is a must. The manuel shows every nut, washer, gasket, clip, moulding, screw for reassebly. The manuel breaks down the car maticulasely from inside out.

 

Rocket is right on with that manual, when restoring it has info that most other publications just dont have. Robawitt21, there is a ton of written material out there for the enthuiast, I would get a mechanical one as well as Camaro specific restoration guides - at least to know more about these cars and what direction you want to go with.
