The Vette rear is IRS, you would have to totally refabricate the rear frame and body to make it work. In the long run, it would probably be easier to put the Camaro on a Vette frame, but it still wouldn't be easy. If you took on the task of successfully adapting the Vette rear suspension to your Camaro, you'd be a master fabricator by the time you're done. I'm sure it's been done, but not by anybody here that I know of.

I've restored a few C3's, currently have a 69 and 92, so I know the differences that lye beneath them as well. If you go with a C4 setup, be sure to use the Dana 44 from a manual trans car. The automatics came with the Dana 36, and are a weaker unit. Probably wouldn't make it around the block under my 69. There was a guy/company named Wayne Due who made and sold a weld in IRS bracket kit that cost about $700. And you would use C4 components. He's not around any more, but maybe somebody else makes something like that? The Camaro/IRS kits I've otherwise seen are full blown, big buck complete unit setups, not a do it yourself (piece together) type kit. I'd be interested too, as there's a huge difference between how my 69 Camaro handles (like a truck) and my 92 Vette (like a slotcar). The better front suspension has something to do with that as well.

I never put one in a Camaro, but I did help a friend put one in a '38 Chevy pickup truck. If you have basic fabrication skills, you can just make a couple of bracket mounting points, set your pinion angle and you'll be on your way
