Question about 69 Camaro I just bought...

I need help to identify this motor to see if it is a true Camaro motor in my car. My car is a 1969 SS Camaro.

Casting Number: 3932386

Date Code: K308

ID Block: V1203HV

The Heads: 3932441 with K98 on it

Intake: 3927184

Not sure what the HV in the Block ID number is. Can you help with me with this.

Thank you so much, Bill

According to this HV is out of a 1965 corvette. It is a 350HP 327 CI motor. At least its a high performance motor.

Casting number is a generic number used on many engines. Most small block engines all have the same bore except 307. The stroke gives a small block its displacement. The one that counts is the 2 digit letter code at the end of the ID. That is car and displacement specific. While casting may say 69 Camaro 302 z/28, unless the 2 digit letter code says DZ its not out of a z/28.

the casting date of block K308 = nov. 30 1968 could the block id be wrong? the intake date is 1969, date code on heads 67-79 vin# car built jan. 69

and if it were a dz from 69 i think it would have 186 heads not 441`s
i have a 69 386 block that was a 350 4 bolt main from a 69 truck
like they said its a generic number and the vin stamp on front gives the details

Here's what you have:
3932386 block casting is a 1969 only number, used for the 302, 327, or 350.
The date code K308 = November 30, 1968.
The HV suffix code was used in 1965 and 1969. But since the block is a 69, that means it was originally in a 1969 Impala, RPO LM1, 255 h.p., 4 barrel, and came attached to a T350 trans.
Intake manifold 3927184 is a 1969 4 bbl., used on 350 engine 255 or 300 h.p. applications.
Heads 3932441 are a 1969-70 model 350, 1.94" intake and 1.5" exhaust valves, 76 cc combustion chamber. K98 date = November 9, 1968.
All the engine numbers are correct for a 1969 model car, it just wasn't a Camaro engine.

Also a 69 SS would have an L48 300HP 350.

That's what mine was, but there were other versions besides the 300 HP, weren't there? I remember seeing many other versions of the 350 in 69 Camaros.
