Hi
Can I use the 67 RS headlamp electric motor and assemblyfor my '68 RS ?
I know both years use the same headlamp return covers ( plz correct me if I am wrong )and the 68 has this odd looking vacuum reservoir and miles of hoses attached to it !!
I appreciate it if someone post a name where I can get oneof these electric piece ( if available )
Thanks

The 67 was the only year they used electric motor assembly, It uses breakers and relays to reduce the voltage to around 10.2 volts for the electric motors. I would asume the car would have to re-wired properly.
My opinion is that you would be better off fixing the vacume system on your car than switching everything over to an electric assembly, I could be wrong but these are the first thoughts that come to my mind!
You can purchase complete Kits for the electric or vacumesystem through places like Ricks Firest Generation.

Eliminate the bulky, complicated, and often ineffective factory vacuum headlamp door sysytem on 1968-69 Camaro models with the RS option, and replace it with a very simple electric system. This electric conversion set operates the headlamp doors smoother and more reliably on any car, even vehicles with larg camsand low manifold vacuum. ( $ 420 a set )

I just did an installation on a 68 RS. We found a gear drive motor from Autoloc that came with micro switch on it to limit travel. Added a second switch to better control and adjust the opening of the doors. The motor was mounted behind the front valance on the hood latch support. Painted it all black and it is hardly noticable. Total bill for the customer was less than $400 including labor. If you have the time and the resources you can save some money, otherwise Detroit Speed has a very good kit.
