Default Padded dash recommendation needed

I’m installing Vintage Air on my ’69. I’ve reached the point where I have to install the center vent. This will require me to either buy a new padded dash for A/C or cut the old non-A/C dash. The idea of cutting up a nearly pristine 43 year old dash seems sacrilegious so I’ve decided to spend to money and do it right. My question is; does anyone out there have a recommendation for a vendor or manufacturer. When I Google dashes I read comments from some that their dash wasn’t long enough and some talk about the “grain” doesn’t look right. By reading manufactures blurbs, it seem that OER (Original Equipment Reproduction) parts may be the best, but before I buy I wanted to know if anyone had good or bad experiences with any manufacturer.

As with most aftermarket parts there will be fitment issues and, look issues. It will be hard for you to find a replacement that is perfect and NOS ones just arent available. I would look at ecklars (Spelling) or year one.

Default dash pad

I got mine from NPD (national parts depot). Perfect fit, dropped right in. I would get a new installation kit, I like to start with everything new. The old clips may have been bent to get a good fit on old dash pad. I think the kit is about $12.00.

I have had a bad experience with Classic Industries urethane dash. It cracks where the center vent goes

I think Camaro Central has some good products. Most made in USA too. They have the OE style with the correct grain and stitching. More expensive, but would be the best fit. Not sure on your color, but check out below.
