New Venture 3500 transmission onto a 327 SBC Camaro with AT
Super new to the camaro community. Recently I found a nice 5 speed NV3500 transmission. My th400 is absolutely shredded in my 67’ camaro and I’d like to convert it over to a manual trans. I could get the Muncie but I’d prefer a fifth gear if possible. Would this transmission mate without issue? Would it fit correctly and link up with the conversion kits being sold out there? Sorry if this is a ridiculous question but trying to find the right answer before spending the money. Thanks!

If you want a 5 speed, get the TKO.

The tko Set up costs a lot more. The new venture transmission I found in great condition for $500. I’m just wondering if it will work well and will fit the Camaro without having to do any major changes

IDK if it bolts up to the 327 either using the 327 manual bellhousing or the 3500....that tranny though does not take much power so you would need to be conservative driving it (read no clutch dumps)
I think if it was a doable or viable swap....there would be several write-ups on that kind of swap for a 1st gen. I have never seen one but anything is doable with enough time/$/fabrication skills |
